Some places have fire drills. Some have tornado drills or flood evacuation routes.
Israel has bomb drills.
This week is war prep week, or something of the sort, where they're running war drills in the "mountains" near us, and we were warned not to be worried if we hear war sirens or see low flying planes. As an expected result, there have been many military planes flying overhead.
This morning we had a bomb drill. At 11am a war siren went off, and we all evacuated to the nearest bomb shelter, where we waited for about 20 minutes until we heard another siren informing us we could leave. While it makes complete sense that in a country that's in a constant state of war we would have such exercises, it's still rather unsettling. And I wonder why they didn't show us where the shelter was at the beginning... what if there were an unexpected attack?
Israeli's keep saying that they'll be a war this summer... I hope it's not true.
