Purim was on March 20th this year, which means it actually started on the eve of the 19th. Since weekends start on Thursday in this country (we have weekends on Friday and Saturday/Shabbat), it was a loooong weekend of Festivities. To elevate things, St Paddy's Day was the previous Thursday. It went pretty unnoticed as the Irish population here is nearly nonexistent, and people were already consumed in the celebrations of Purim, but there was a crazy street party outside of the Molly Blooms, the main Irish pub here.
As usual, Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael (my old kibbutz) celebrated the holiday a week later, so I drove up to dress up yet again and party with some old friends.
There's not too much to say about the parties in either location. Pretty typical fanfair. So I'll leave you with a selection of the best costumes from both Tel Aviv and Ma'agan Michael.
